9:00 am - 7:30 pm Welcome Center & Photo  & Art Exhibits Open - University Community Park. Community Center Patio & Craft Room.

"I Remember Irvine When . . ." Videotaping of volunteer participants. -    By appointment, Check at Welcome Center, UCP.

9:00 - 10:00 am  Doggie Parade! Meet other Irvine dog owners and their dogs at in front of Lexicon Park Entrance of UCP.

11:00 am - 3:00 pm  All-Community Picnic, UCP.  Games, entertainment, booths, arts and crafts, face painting, door prizes. Food trucks or bring your own picnic. The ice cream cart will feature Thrifty's cones at 10 cents a scoop.

10:00 am - 6:00 pm  Adventure Playground open. No cost, no reservations required. (entrance behind Library)

2:30 pm "I Moved to Irvine" parade, and Irvine Pioneer Awards and Certificates. Early Bird Door Prize drawing. UCP.

4:00 - 5:30 am Architectural Walk and Talk: Led by Alan Hess, Architectural Historian. - Starts at Welcome Center, UCP

4:00 - 6:30 pm - "The Way We Were - 1966 " Sixties and Seventies Dance Music by Too Much Fun band. Ice Cream Social. Entertainment. MPR, UCP. Preregistration event.

Musical interlude by the acoustic guitar and vocal group "Marshall London," your University Park neighbors.


1:00 - 7:30 pm Welcome Center & Photo Exhibit Open - University Community Park. Community Center Patio.

Pre-registration Events: If space is available you can still register for our three "reservation only" events, the Welcome Reception, and "Way We Were - 1966" with the "Too Much Fun" and "Marshall London bands. Due to space limitations, you should plan to come early if you have not pre-registered.

Other small group events wil depend on interest. Most will not require a fee.  

Find your friends:  Allow your name and contact to be on file the Welcome Center, so old friends asking for you can contact you.

Sign up for Sunday morning walks and tours and Farewell Pancake Breakfast. These will require minimum participation, and some may require a deposit and fee.

2:00 - 7:00 pm Art Exhibit Open -         UCP Craft Room

3:00-4:30 pm:  Architectural Walk and Talk: Led by Alan Hess, Architectural Historian. - Starts at Welcome Center, UCP.

10:00 am - 6:00 pm  Adventure Playground open. No cost, no reservations required. (entrance behind Library). Upon request, the City of irvine will arrange a special tour.

7:00 - 9:00 pm  Welcome Reception, Exhibit and Refreshments. Panel  "The Planning of Irvine" by early planners & experts, MRP UCP. Pre-regisration event.

9:00 am - 1:00 pm  Welcome Center & Photo & Art Exhibits Open - University Community Park. Community Center Patio & Craft Room.

9:00 - 11:00 am  Kiwanis famous "All You Can Eat" pancake breakfast. Ticket required. Purchase at the door. University Community Park. Music by Marshall London for your listening pleasure.

9:00 - 5:00 pm Small group activities to be scheduled upon demand. Sign up sheets will be available Friday and Saturday at Welcome Center. Minimum participation will be required. Fees may be required.

3:00 - 4:30 pm Architectural Walk and Talk:  Led by Alan Hess, Architectural Historian. - Starts at Welcome Center, UCP. About 1 1/2 hours.


Locations:  

University Community Park (UCP) 1 Beechtree Lane, Irvine CA 92612 (enter off Sandburg behind University Park Library, 4512 Sandburg Way, Irvine 92612)

UCP Recreation Center. These are the two buildings, one smaller original building and one large building near the Lexicon Entrance to the Park.

Multipurpose Room  (UCP MPR) and Craft Room (in the smaller original buildings) are located inside the Recreation Center in University University Park.

Adventure Playground is located behind University Park Library parking lot. No charge or resservations required.
